What is podiatry?
Podiatry is the internationally recognised name for chiropody, and both the terms podiatrist and chiropodist are used interchangeably to describe those HCPC registered professionals, and is the only Government recognised certificate accepted by the NHS. Those registered undertake a three year degree course, and are awarded BSc in Podiatry. The profession is continually evolving and includes specialisms such as podiatric surgery, which involves further post graduate surgical training.
